Booking a Groupon Getaways Deal

How to Book a Hotel

If you see a calendar on the deal page, you’ll book your stay when you purchase the Groupon.

  1. Select the room type from the list of available options.
  2. Select your check-in and check-out dates on the calendar. Then select Continue.
  3. At checkout, confirm the traveler’s name (it must match a valid ID at the time of check-in). You can also apply a promo or gift code (if the deal is eligible in the Fine Print) and review your reservation details.
  4. Select Place Order.
  5. You'll receive a notification that your order was successful, as well as a confirmation email for your booking. You also can always refer back to the details of your stay in My Groupons.

If you want to book multiple rooms for the same dates, you'll need to place separate orders for each additional room.

If you don’t see a calendar on the deal page, you’ll book your stay after you purchase the Groupon.

  1. After your order is confirmed, your voucher will be available in your account under My Groupons on our website or mobile app.
  2. Select View Voucher to open your Groupon and find all of the necessary booking information under "How to Use."
  3. Contact the merchant as specified on your voucher before the book by date. (Be sure to mention your Groupon Getaways voucher.)
  4. Book a date within the travel window specified in the Fine Print & Details section.
  5. Provide your credit card information, if necessary, to secure your reservation (your card will not be charged).

You may be able to book multiple rooms for the same dates or combine reservations for a longer stay by purchasing additional vouchers. Please check the deal’s Fine Print as restrictions may limit the number of vouchers you can purchase.

How to Book a Tour Package

Pick Your Trip

Groupon Getaways not only offers national and international trips, but also different styles of trips.

  • Structured Tours: Buy one of these and the tour operator will set up all included flights, transportation, and hotels, as well as daily activities and, in some cases, meals. These tours are a great way to see the sights of a new country or two.
  • Free-Form Vacations: In these tours, operators will handle flights (if included) and hotels, but then they'll usually hand over the keys and let you choose your own adventure from there.
  • Cruises: Chart your course on a luxury cruise to far-flung destinations like the Bahamas. Along the way, enjoy onboard amenities and off-ship excursions.
  • All-Inclusive Resorts: It couldn't be easier than a resort. Once you're there, there aren't many reasons to leave—unless you want to go snorkeling or exploring.

Plan for Travel Companions

Tour deals are typically priced per person, so each traveler should purchase their own Groupon—this can be done in the same order or separately.

  • Bringing kids? Some Tour Operators may require you to purchase separate vouchers for children. Check the Fine Print of the deal or contact the merchant for more details.
  • Traveling alone? You get your own room! Check the Fine Print to see the solo traveler fee.

Book Your Trip

The tour operator will handle all the booking details. Some deals may provide the option to add on extra days, special excursions, or upgrades not included in the voucher price.

  1. After your order is confirmed, your voucher will be available in your account under My Groupons on our website or mobile app.
  2. Select View Voucher to open your Groupon and find all of the necessary booking information under "How to Use."
  3. Contact the tour operator as specified on your voucher before the book by date. If you’re traveling with others, be sure to have the Groupons for all travelers with you when you contact the operator, so they can book your reservations together.
  4. Book a date within the travel window specified in the Fine Print & Details section.
  5. Provide your credit card information, if necessary, to secure your reservation (your card will not be charged).

Get Ready to Go

  • International travelers: You might need to update your passports or visas, and immunizations, depending on the country.
  • Flight preparations: Your tour operator will provide you with flight numbers. Check the rules for the airlines you’ll be using to prevent surprises at the airport such as restrictions on what you can carry and luggage size.
  • Loose ends: Ask the tour operator and check the "Know Before You Go" section to make sure you have everything you’ll need for your trip.
